Floating

The rain drains from my veins
Leaving me floating amongst the clouds
alone.

A bridge from light blue to beige.

Safe, sturdy, and content.

Bringing things together,

holding them tight

tighter

tightest

A stapler can only hold so much,

So why do I try to hold even more?

Here I lay; a pizza to my left, a cat to my right

What else could I possibly need in my life?

I am floating, I am floating, far, far away

yet here I am to stay

Floating above my body,

Floating above the clouds

The vines of a spider-plant hold me close

closer

closest

close in it’s tangling, purifying arms;

Hold me down, keep me here

safe and sound

with no one around

Attach me securely inside

as the rain starts to"—drip—drop"

refilling

And

flowing still

The clouds floating up above and me here

Down below.

Stuck?

floating—

No one will ever know.

Who am I to live safely during the war?

Who am I to live safely during the war
the war of the mind

the war on the land

the war that plagues us

the war that sustains us

These wars join the ranks

One-by(e)-one and two-by(e)-two

A game of chess using human fodder

The powerful feast while the pawns go to slaughter

Feast on the bones and souls of so many

The common people are asked to ration

While the elite prance around in the latest fashion

Who

Who are

Who are we?

We the many

We the proud

We who stand and sit and

Close our eyes

And turn our heads

And look in the mirror

And hope

And wait

And wonder

When will it all end?

Why?

Why now?

Why again?

No more.

NO. MORE!

The people shout and plead

But it’s too late,

the board is reset

Ready and at the ready

waiting and shaking

wondering.. who is next

Will they come for me?

How will we ever survive?

Will we ever truly thrive?

Can we escape this?

Can we change this?

Who am I to live safely during the war?

Mundane Love

time

take time

here

now

Lay with me

take time

time

time to be

(n)Ever-the-same

where am I?

Wake up!

Take two.

sleep, rest

Let it comfort you

Allow peace to surround you

Recharge

again.

now.

here.

You deserve to rest

Listen,

Listen to your body

it will take care of you

If you only rest,

when you are called to.

Be here,

be here, now

be with yourself

Be alone with yourself,

Let it sink—in

Let it rise—out

Let it engulf you,

swallow you whole

The darkness can be sweet,

if you welcome it with open arms

and prepare to rest

Awake anew.

Let it flow over you, accept and embrace

its embrace is comfort

its embrace is eternal

it needs you, (just) as you need it

Rest.

Be.

Here.

♥

(My) First Poem on Earth

The sun shines down on me
Warming my skin
Glistening in your eyes
Absorbing and radiating endlessly

The breeze embraces us
Stoking the fire
Moving the manes
Passing on its way elsewhere

The water provides for us
Cooling our tongues
Cleansing our bodies
Saturating our village

The sun, the breeze, and the water
Breathing into us
Sustaining life
Connecting us all as one

This is me, I am enough

My thoughts belong in this world

Wherever a Rose blooms, I shall be.

My Permission Slip

I grant myself permission to release my past
I grant myself permission to release my future
Like shackles on my heart and mind, no more
May you vanish, disintegrate, and be gone

So that I may arrive and thrive
Arrive and stay, here in this present moment
Arrive and stay, enjoy the hearth and the inner workings of my heart

Come down, look around, clear away the dust and debris
Process the pain and reawaken to my time
My heart, patchwork and bleeding, cleansed and refreshed

So I can let the future arrive at my doorstep
With open arms and clear vision
No more hurt, no more pain
Simply acceptance with everything to gain

Positive abundance is my destiny
Thriving joy is my core state
I deserve to feel good and let go and flow

The beating of my heart keeps my time
The wind at my feet guides my direction
The universe nourishes my being unconditionally
Now it is time for me to do the same

Into the light
Into this moment
This breath sustains me
My fears released

[Insert YOUR Story Here!]

You are worthy.

You are important.

You deserve to feel good.

I would love the opportunity to listen to you, to hear you, to support you, to distract you--whatever you need right now.

And then, with your permission, I would love to share your story with the world.

Because we are more alike than we are different.

Because we are not alone in this world.

Because we all are experiencing what it means to be human.

You, and me, and all of us: we can save ourselves, and we can save each other, by choosing to connect and grow.

Quarantine as a dream...

LUNA: A Digital Yoga & Music Festival
Art Workshop with Gioconda Parker
Free-flow Writing Prompt - Quarantine as a dream...

"I had this crazy dream that...." the whole world slowed down

an incredible opportunity to change for the better
oil prices below zero --> wind energy ❤😀
help to.... overpopulation isn't the problem   corruption is
How can we change for the better? How can the entire world
learn a valuable lesson and do good! Better education, food access, safe homes,
universal healthcare, fuck war, stop [scriggle] Rawr. No more unnecessary death
Clarity.

[false-stop... just kidding: 2 more minutes]

😆 stop-go. Don't reopen too soon. Don't stop protection too soon.
Help. Be kind damnit. Love yourself. Have fun. Gentle. Calm. Rejuvenate.
Who am I? I am peace. I am power. I am strength. We will be better. We already
are. don't think of the hurt, the ignorance, the wrong. Focus on the good and it
will expand. Utopia is possible. Anything is possible so why not?
